Organizing as part of staging a house for sale is a little different than organizing a space you are planning to stay and live in. The process is the same – the result you need is where the difference is.
For living in a home you need an organization system that allows you and your family to function easily. When organizing as part of preparing your home for sale you absolutely must de-clutter every space as well as organize what is left behind so enhance the likability of your house for buyers.
Be certain to leave all the essentials you need to live in the home and then just the tiniest amount more to make the home feel comfortable.
There is a fine line between cold and comfortable. There is an even finer line between comfortable and cluttered. If you just cannot decide which side of the line your space is on, err on the side of caution, go with what feels just a bit less than comfortable. It’s not ideal, but it is a much better option than cluttered!
There are two parts to the organizing process.
First you must determine how to go about deciding what will stay in the space.
Then you need to obtain the right products to help you keep it all in place. Never spend any money on organizing items before you know what exactly will be staying in a space. You don’t want to waste money on something you ultimately don’t use or need. That’s how you end up with clutter in the first place! The most important thing to remember about buying anything to organize a house you are selling is to make certain you choose only pieces you can take with you to your new home. Unless you are installing something like a custom closet system you are not likely to get any cash for these types of items when you sell. Be certain to purchase what you can take with you so that you are not wasting any money.
If it’s not coming easy to you there is help.
